Mug Cake Base
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 drops vanilla extract Optional
Mix-Ins
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chocolate or chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon cherry pie filling

Preparation
  1. Grab your favorite mug, preferably oversized to prevent overflow.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in the mug.
  3. Stir in milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until you have a thick batter.
  4. Fold in chopped chocolate or chocolate chips and cherry pie filling.
Cooking
  1. Microwave the mug for about 90 seconds until set but still soft on top.
  2. Allow the cake to cool for a few minutes before eating.

Notes

Do not over-mix the batter. For a moister cake, substitute some milk with Greek yogurt or sour cream. Microwaves vary, so adjust cooking time as needed.
