Method
 

Cooking the Cereal
  1. Start by measuring the cracked wheat and water.
  2. In a pot, bring 3 cups of water to a boil.
  3. Add 1 cup of cracked wheat to the boiling water.
  4. Reduce the heat to a simmer and stir occasionally.
  5. Cook until the cereal begins to thicken, about 10-15 minutes.
  6. If desired, toast the cracked wheat in the dry pan for a couple of minutes for added nuttiness.
  7. Once cooked, remove from heat and cover for 5 minutes.
  8. Fluff with a fork and serve with your favorite toppings.

Notes
