  • 1 lb Ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey
  • 4 cups Diced potatoes Fresh or frozen hashbrowns work
  • 1 can Cream of mushroom soup Or cream of chicken soup as a substitute
  • 1 medium Onion Diced
  • 2 cups Shredded cheese Sharp cheddar or any cheese works
  • 1 can Green beans Can substitute with peas or corn
Seasoning
  • 1 to taste Salt
  • 1 to taste Pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder Optional
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce For extra flavor
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika For extra flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet until fully cooked and drain off the excess fat.
  2. In a crockpot, layer the diced potatoes at the bottom.
  3. Add the browned beef, diced onion, cream of mushroom soup, and seasonings.
  4. Layer the green beans on top and cover with shredded cheese.
  5. Cover the crockpot with a lid, and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
  6. Avoid opening the lid to ensure even cooking.
Serving
  1. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving to thicken.
  2. Serve with fluffy white bread, cornbread, or a side salad.

Notes

For variations, try substituting sausage for beef, adding more vegetables, or using tater tots instead of potatoes. Works well as a freezer meal.
